As a plinker it's a great gun, cycles with pretty much any ammo you can find. It was the only semi-auto that I have found which will reliably cycle the new CCI "Quiet-22" ammo, though in a pistol this ammo isn't really isn't all that quiet.
IMHO, the carbine kit is what really makes NEOS interesting:
Yes, it is perfectly legal to switch the NEOS back and forth.
I'm thinking about picking one of these up. They are cheaper than most other 22LR semi-autos on the market, yet seem just as reliable, if not more. I guess they aren't that popular because they look sorta weird, but in a futuristic way.

Mrs.B has put over 1,200 rounds through it in the past 4 weeks and is getting darn good with it. It cycles everything I've put through it.....even 1085 fps 40 grain ammo. It was a good choice....
Very accurate, eats whatever you feed it, rail for mounting a scope if you want... Great gun. I haven't fired my Walther since we got the Beretta. The Walther is a pain in the ass, always jams and is VERY picky when it comes to ammo. The Beretta "just works."
