I don't know who funds Patch; I suspect it is in cooperation with Chamber(s) of Commerce all over the country; which if it is...is a good thing!

Easy enough to research. You will find that "Patch Media, part of the Huffington Post Media Group, is an AOL company." Patch Network's "About Us" page explains: "We're a community-specific news, information and engagement platform driven by passionate and experienced new media professionals. Patch is revolutionizing the way neighbors connect with each other, their communities, and the national conversation." Mauldin Patch is the product of a paid editorial staff (journalist Hal Millard from Spartanburg) and unpaid volunteers.

The one near downtown Greenville is still under construction I believe (at least it was when I drove by it last week). It looks almost done now. I love QT. Spent way to much $$ on .49 cent drinks. hehe

The QT in Easley and the one in Duncan are both under construction as well.

In related news, the new Spinx in Powdersville is now open across S.C. 153 from the recently upgraded Hickory Point.

Per this week's Greenville Journal, "Pete Brett and David Sigmon represented AVTEX Partners, XI, in the sale of a 2.24 acre site at 304 W Butler Road, Mauldin, to Quik Trip Corp."

Has anybody tried this place yet? Sounded pretty good going off the radio commercial I heard for them. Locally grown foods used, MSG free products, etc. The reviews overall on urbanspoon look excellent: http://www.urbanspoon.com/m/comments/1644556
