I know a great deal about the area, but I don't go out a whole lot for nightlife, but would like to every now and then. Where do people in their 30s go here in Greenville?

Well, it really depends on your scene. A lot of my friends hang out at Sassafras (sp?), but also 221 North, Connelly's, Corner Pocket, etc. Being that the median age in Greenville is about 34, it's really "our town". Obviously there is some nightlife that caters to younger folks, but you'll find a good 30s crowd just about anywhere.

I'm right at the median age then. I've been to 221 North and really enjoyed it. I've also been to Corner Pocket a few times.
For a drink in City Center or the West End, I would suggest Stellar Wine Bar, The Cazbah, Brown Street Club, The Lazy Goat, and Soby's. Those places are classier and more mature in comparison to the standard bars. Also, keep an eye on the new concept restaurant and bar where Restaurant O used to be. The upstairs bar at O's was a great space!
One great place I miss was Algorithm. It closed a few years ago, but it was a small bar in the back of Ragan's Market. It was sort of a speakeasy type of deal, because you had to know to ask if the bar was open. Many people probably went to Ragan's Market and never knew the bar was there. The owner was a great guy, and he and his partner worked hard to make the intimate bar space a fun spot. Loved it!
I don't think it's open, since it's right next door to my father's law firm. I could be wrong. Looks interesting, but it should last about 6 months. That location must be cursed, since this will be about the 5th restaurant/bar in that location since I moved here in 2002.

There was a hologram on the wall tonight with a receptionist there. So I think its open.
This place looks really, really promising, based on the web site. We need something like this downtown, because I don't know of too many places to dance. Hopefully the DJs will be good, and this place will recruit a good crowd.
The Castle has a number of young people but still plenty of folks in their 30's.
Not looking for this kind of place.
