Is there a place like Peachtree City (PTC) North of Atlanta? We are looking for a conservative, safe community North of Atlanta, preferably in the mountains. Is there such a place? If so, where? Thanks!

When you say "like PTC" do you mean with the golf cart-oriented neighborhood, or is there something else you're looking to replicate? Are you looking for a golf course community?

Bob,

At the risk of alienating people, we are looking for a christian, conservative, republican, safe community. The golf carts are a nice touch but not a requirement. My data on PTC is based on Internet demographics and postings from this website. Is PTC really like it sounds or is it hype?

The only thing I don't like about PTC is it's flat. Looking for hills/mountains. So, is there a community like PTC in the mountains? Thanks!

You'll find that pretty much all of the mountain area north of Atlanta fits what you're looking for. Bear in mind though that some of the areas up there aren't thrilled by all the folks moving in to their towns, so it's very possible that you're not going to get a very warm welcome.

You can get what you're looking for without going into the sticks either- Cherokee County fits your profile and is still within commuting distance to Atlanta if you need to work.

I'd check out Blairsville and Young Harris in Union and Towns counties.

As a current resident of Peachtree City , I love living here. Aside from not having mountain views, many of the creeks and wooded areas here really remind me alot of the North Georgia Mountains. Especially in the open space areas on the golf cart paths.
