Which city do you think has the better chance to become the top 2nd tier city based on growth, shopping, entertainment? Which would you say feel more like a "City" ?

Columbus is Georgia's 2nd largest city, and leads in those categories.

I think that is easily Savannah just b/c of it's location and its historic downtown area. Then Augusta, then Macon way behind. Macon can only be even discussed if you include Warner Robins.

Columbus seems too isolated to ever become a 2nd tier company. Just seems like an area near a military base to me.

There are a million of these threads on here, so I will avoid the pissing contest. But outside of Atlanta, Savannah feels the most like a city. While Augusta is the 2nd largest area and growing, Savannah will always have a more bustling downtown and be in demand due to its coastal location and picturesque textbook southern charm and a historic district that puts it in the top tourist destinations in the southeast.

Just my opinion.

In terms of size, it's Augusta. In terms of prestige/culture, it's Savannah.

Of the three, I'd say Augusta. In my opinion, Savannah may seem to have have its bustling city areas because of the large amount of tourists, making it seem larger than it really is. I wouldn't say Macon even belongs in this category.

Columbus guys still the most delusional about their city. These guys are hysterical. Please do tell what about Columbus makes it better for shopping, entertainment and city feel than Savannah and Augusta? Columbus feels smaller than Macon and somewhat similar to Athens, yet now it feels more like a city than even Savannah?
