Good morning,

I am in the process of relocating from NC to Atlanta, GA. And I don't know where to start! Atlanta is so huge with many options. I would like to narrow my search. I will be working in Sandy Springs. I am looking for a "not so long" commute back and forth to work. I have two teenage kids. My daughter will be a Senior and my son will be a Junior. My daughter is okay with the move but this will not be an easy adjustment for my son. I had a talk with him and he feels that he has established himself with the school he attends not academically. His dream is to go pro-football and feels moving would put this goal to a halt.

I need to move to a city that has great schools and would help with his transition. What's important to me are great high schools and safe communities. I was considering Alpharetta, Kennesaw, Dundwoody, Woodstock, and Sandy Springs if they have great areas. All suggestions are welcomed! I just want to make this as easy as possible for my son.

Thanks

Limit your search to Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, and Alpharetta for a reasonable commute. All are very desirable areas within the metro area.

Is he a potential DI player? Is he in a great high school football program now? If so, any chance you can leave him with family to finish high school? Pro-football and even DI scholarships aren't really realistic dreams -- be honest with yourself and with him, what are his real chances.

The best high school, for an easy commute, hands down is Riverwood. What is your budget?
