I like it, although I'd bring the Cascades part down to include Colorado and Northern Utah and call it the Rockies, then I'd consider making the Baja and coastal Mexico part of California (**** half of California's citizens are of Mexican descent anyway). But with the current map, the capitals would have to be...
Hispania: Mexico City
California: Los Angeles
Cascadia: Seattle
Desertia: Phoenix
Prarieland: Calgary
Lakeland: Chicago
The South: Atlanta
Florida: Miami
The East: New York City
New France: Montreal
Far North: Fairbanks (Anchorage is in Cascadia right?)

I know that you might want to have the largest or most well known city as capital, but realistiacally, wouldn't it bet better to have Vancouver as the capital for those in Alaska and Canada to get there?
I would also suggest Las Vegas as the capital for Desertia as Phoenix is in the far south of the state and Jackson, Mississippi for The South.
how does new orleans get to be the capital of the south?
in my opinion, the only two cities that are serious candidates for that role are houston and atlanta
I couldn't chose between ATL, DFW, MIA and HOU so I went with my favorite and most unique. When I wrote I figured it would get at least one question on that
Among a variety of errors, this map completely ignores that the Rockies exist. I guess then are just part of a greater desert?
I don't see that as a problem, the Rockies aren't that big in comparison to the rest of the states.
