Hi...I'm a teacher and I will share this information with you. If you have a master's in ed...you will start at approximately $48,000 per year in the Fairfield County area. Obviously, if you teach in a needed area (science, math, bi-lingual) your chances are better

The problem is that the cost of housing in this area is high...

It would seem to me that a state like Colorado or North Carolina would offer decent salaires (starting mid-$40K's) AND have less expensive housing costs.
