SF has a good balance, and might be the most well rounded city when it comes to nature/weather/dense city in the U.S. but if you want the *best* of these categories, it is not.

From your description, A mix of LA + NYC sounds great, maybe also a little bit of San Francisco and Seattle too, such as the Chinese and Japanese food, and the NFL and MLS team.

NYC: food, museums, music, transit, international population
SF/Oakland: food, beer, weather, sports teams (A's/Warriors)
New Orleans: music, culture, overall vibe
Amsterdam: history, permissive culture, museums
