5. Religious and non-religious people are roughly equal in numbers, so both viewpoints are respected.

8. The Western US contains the world's entertainment capital as well as its technological capital.
9. Aside from the urban clusters of California, the West is sparsely populated.

Why do I love the West? All the freaks in the Country have a place to call home without dragging down all the other States and regions.

Most of your list could apply to most other parts of the Country as well.

I would add amazing produce markets all year round

Everyday in Santa Monica is just amazing to me personally

oh and one more thing, an ocean view of the sunset everyday!

and one more - by and large the best wine made in the US, some of the best (arguably the best) in the world

I'd prefer to be away from the humidity, bugs, ticks, lyme disease, mosquitoes, multiple varieties of poisonous snakes, hurricanes, and alligators of the East coast.

I think that all those people who like the east coast ought to stay there, though.
