All Canadian cities seem to have more tall buildings per head than US cities, but maybe that's because their cities are fewer and each moderately big one is more important to commerce and office space.
Of course I'm going to say Des Moines, Iowa! I don't call myself the DesMoinesiac for nothing! :-) Okay, that and Des Moines, metro pop 580k (2011) has a skyline that gives St. Louis, a metro of roughly 2 million (?) at least a good run for its money, and probably more. Even if St. Lou skyline is better, the fact that we're even seriously comparing skylines from a city of 600k vs one of 2mil either says something very, very good for the 600k, or something very, very bad for the 2mil.
But a) since two or three people have already highlighted Des Moines, and since I really don't want to become known as someone who -only- pimps my city, let me pimp Cedar Rapids instead! :-)
City pop: 126,326 (2010)
Metro pop: 257,940 (2010)

Pretty impressive for its size, I think! And then there's May's island...
des moines is even more amazing when you factor in the fact that st. louis missouri metro area is really 2.8 millions and not 2 million.
