I was out on my bicycle, riding around town, last weekend. I stopped by a yard sale I saw. There was a pair of hiking boots there. I recognized the brand (Montrail).

My bf wears this type of hiking boot and they have been discontinued. We had been watching ebay for a pair for him and recently were able to get him a like new pair for $50 on ebay. He was happy.

This yard sale pair was my size. Barely used. $1. I have plenty of hiking boots but I couldn't let this one go.

I bought a $33 Milwaukee Brewer ticket for $4.50 ($6.50-$2.00 rebate) on Stub Hub. Great seats and had teh rare opportunity to watch batting practice.

I stopped at a local restaurant for a sandwich. The bar offers a free shuttle to Milwaukee's Miller Park so I avoided the $10-18 parking fees. Gave the driver a few bucks for his patience.

Awesome deal!

This reminded me of the two NASCAR tickets I got for $2.00.

Kellogg's Corn Flakes had something (can't remember what) on each box that needed to be collected in order to get a free ticket. I collected enough to get 2 free tickets. They would have been free if we had redeemed at the track, but I wanted to see that ticket (my first race, in Phoenix) so got them at ticket master.

Bet ya'll thought, "Well you paid for the cereal, didn't you? So how can the tickets be free?"
Well, for me the cereal was free. I had a few dozen 50 cent coupons, each good for one box of Corn Flakes. Corn Flakes were on sale for 99 cents and my coupons were doubled. So, each and every box of cornflakes was free.

So, about 2 dozen boxes of cereal and 2 NASCAR tickets for $2.00 was my best deal ever.

I like Marshalls and check there often as things change quickly. I was in there about 10 days ago and "all" the sandals had been taken away and replaced with winter shoes and boots. Hey, it was only mid-August. Days are still reaching 85. Our Kohls I find that the clothing to be kinda cheap and not well organized.

Another deal.

I need to head to Tennessee to look for a new location.

RT bus ticket on MegaBus Chicago to Nashville, $8.50 RT. It is going to cost me as much to head down to Union Station to pick up the bus as it will to get me to Nashville.

My fiancee got some clothes as a gift from a coworker.. she didn't like those clothes so she decided to return them (the tag with the store name was on.) In fact, she also took the clothes she got from the same coworker as a gift from the Christmas before with her.

Surprisingly, she could still return the gift she got over a year ago. But even more surprisingly, each article of clothing she got as a gift cost in the single digits! She returned about 3-4 articles of clothing, each for less than $10 and got a store credit.. and still had to pay about $20 on top of that to buy the shirt she wanted (which was also on SALE.)

How is this a frugal story? The co-worker got a great deal? or your fiancee did NOT because she didn't have a receipt, maybe the things were marked down since time of purchase, etc. - so your fiancee bought a shirt that was at least $50 on sale?

Lots of free food along the way, buying pants on Ebay due to the size not being widely avaialble in stores.
The one time best deal was Scott paper towels. They were on sale for $2.35. Fairly expensive roll of paper towels. There happened to be a coupon for 75 cents off 1 item. The store was also having triple coupons.
$2.35 - 3 x .75 = net cost per item = 10 cents. We got 95 rolls for $9.50.

Were we satisfied with a many year supply for only 10 cents each.
Not quite. We use coupons on some types of items, so we like some items to be free or near free!
Each roll had a BTFE on it. We sold the 95 BTFE for 5 cents each on a coupon site that is not longer around.
Therefore 95 rolls of Scott paper towels for 5 cents each or $4.75.
Mathmatically it was like buying 2.02 rolls at the sale price, and getting 92.98 rolls free.

That would be the best single deal ever though it was not like saving 50% on a new car or anything like that.
