Can pretty much say: 4: Aldi's and Sams are our favorites: our small, independent, local grocery store used to be number one for us, but their prices are getting a bit higher than we fell we can afford, plus they stopped doubling coupos and Walmart is our 4th, not my choice, but sometimes when we need other things, like garden supplies, booze, electronics, etc we also buy groceries. I do run into $General once in awhile.

Three, for the most part.

Most day-to-day items come from the mom-and-pop grocery in the town where I live.

I try to make it a point to buy a few things at the store in the (very) small town where I work, just to maintain goodwill with the owner who is a customer of the business where I work.

Once a month or so I'll hit the Mennonite-run general store at another small town in our county about 8 miles away. They specialize in bulk foods and special buys and usually have a good selection of locally-grown produce in season.

I shop at three different stores regularly: Sprouts, King Soopers (Krogers), & Whole Foods. Sprouts is my primary grocery store, because I buy a lot of bulk foods, and they have a nice selection. I go about once every five days or so.

Trader Joes, Costco, local farmers market and Safeway when I absolutely have to. Our local Safeway is awful!

I go to 5 on a regular basis: (I live in California)

1) Sprouts
2) Trader Joe's
3) Stater Bros.
4) Costco
5) Ralph's

Here's other stores in my area that I never really go to: Aldi's, Winco, Food for Less, Sam's Club, Albertson's, Vons.

Go to a Kroger about 25 miles away once or twice a month for meat, frozen, dairy. On this stock-up trip I try also to get as much of my produce as I can. For in-between bread & milk, etc., I go to the local Walmart (which I do not like). Will get any other produce needs then. HERE, the quality & selection at Kroger is so much better than any Walmart with groceries that I have used. I also go to the local $$ store for as many household items (laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc) as I can. This $$ store also has non-perishables & a limited dairy selection. Have been known to purchase milk & a few canned items & baking needs there to avoid the Walmart experience. Said all that to say, I guess, I try to get as much as I can from 1 store but may end up in as many as 3 before month end.
