Hey all!!! I am a canadian RN looking to relocate. I could go anywhere in florida, but my family has gone on vacation to fort myers area the past several years and i really like it.
Just curious if there are nursing jobs a-plenty of if you all would recommend a different area?? Housing SEEMS relatively affordable ( i would be renting for the first year).
Any info would be awesome! And any recommendations on decent quiet rental communities would be appreciated too. In fact, are there any magazines on rental properties that you guys know about that i could get mailed to me? i like studying those books and narrwing my options down before i go take a visit.
Thanks a bunch

aimee

You can always call the HR Dept at Lee Memorial Health System...they can give information regarding positions that are open. (239) 772- 6500. It's the largest Health System in the area and right now about the only one hiring.

my neighbourhood is just around the corner from the big new hospital

Paseo Fort Myers

commuting can be a pain in season so take care not to live too far from work.

I have heard of unfurnished townhouses going in the 1200 per month range or lower, which you could split with another tenant.

If you asked nice, I might rent you my place on month to month, which is empty till October, 1500 per month furnished.

Lee Memorial Health Systems - go to: www.leememorial.com and click on "Find a Job". As of today, there are 191 open positions. Good luck! And I rent a huge townhouse in a very nice neighborhood for 850/mo and it includes cable with HBO and water! Good luck! Let us know how you are doing...oh and I work for LMHS in the Emergency Dept and I LOVE it!

I was down there at the end of last year and worked in Fort Myers for the Lee Memorial Health System and it is awesome. I am an Oncology nurse and they have a great unit. They also have great benefits and do alot for their employees.

We rented an apt. at Lakes of College Pointe and it was awesome. The staff there was really helpful and really worked with me when I had to return to Indiana due to a family emergency. I would recommend them 100%.

Good luck in your endeavors.
