Here is the link of the new Ford Explorer. Why? Isn't the Flex enough? It looks like a bloated Flex!

Why can't they include a hybrid Explorer, or pure-electric Explorer, or some kind of more fuel-efficient Explorer?

It sure does! Why sell both, but then again Ford is selling the Flex and Taurus X side by side. Who knows.

Isn't Ford stopping production of the Taurus X this year?

Well, it says that it's a mule, so of course it looks like the Flex/something in production already. That's what mules are. It doesn't mean the production car will look anything like that.

Did the designers have a bet going on which one of them could design the ugliest vehicle?

Looks as bad as the Pontiac Aztek did.

The mule doesn't mean anything towards how it will look. If you look at the pics, you will see how the front end doesn't line up correctly with the rest of the body (especially at the pillars near the windshield). Car makers will usually take a body of one of their cars and put it over what they're testing. They do this when testing things like engines, tranmissions, frames, suspensions, etc.

i don't like it either, but didn't the older exploders have a high rate of rollovers? It looks lower to the ground and less likely to roll but i agree i don't like the looks, it looks very similar to a van.
