My 1999 ford taurus 3.0v6 engine,cut out on me while driving.I started having problem when I over-filled the expansion tank with coolant.The engine turns over but nothing.I'm also losing some coolant.

Sounds like you may have blown a head gasket. If so, that's not good.

Get an OBD II code scanner and hook it up to your car's scanning port. I had the same problem with my 1994 Mercury Sable (3.8 V6 engine) but it was due to a module in the computer system... not the cooling system.
