no this serpintine belt was very very dirty and worn he took it off and showed my DH...My DH has had his breaks and stuff done thru this guy for 3 years now so he is certainly trust worthy and should have taken it to him in the 1st place...Again we have never had a used car before so this is all new to us but he knows the basics and what noises are not normal and when to have the oil and tires rotated... we got lucky the Tires are only 2 years old I will say...The belt was not in good condition so it was replaced...The owner is so sweet he has been keeping in touch with my son, to see how the car is doing now that its a week old and he said the serpentine belt hadn't been changed he wanted to make sure it didnt cost us too much

so the car is running great and my son is ready to put his black wheels on it

I suppose you must have a best friend who's been a lead tech in a BMW and lexus dealership and is now the Service department Manager like me. the only time you need something turned or to replace them are if they are f'd up. The people who just throw parts are cars are not good mechanics.

Serp belts can be had as low as 30 bucks and take 10 mins to change.

yes it took them no time to install it...and they charged us 34.95 plus to put it in the total was 80 bucks..
