Here in Maine "Oakhurst Dairy" claims to be hormone free as well. I am boycotting "Hood" products as they practicly put 9 Maine dairys here in Maine out of business. After signing a contract with them to convert to Organic, which was considerable cost to the dairies, Hood pulled out on them. These dairies now have been working together to produce Oranic milk which is supposed to be on the market by late November>

I just stocked up on canned tomatoes. Buy one get one. I did buy dried beans for the economy. Chili weather is almost here.

Moderation (on everything) is the best way to go.

You can use fresh or packaged tomatoes and dried beans. It will taste a lot better, anyway.

If it makes sense and I can afford it I will change. I have been eating canned tomaotes, regular potaotes, and regular apples for years. I'm still here. I think the key to most things is moderation.

If I can grow my own I will but I will not pay the organic prices.
Exactly...Del Monte makes a jarred tomato. If you can even find it, it's like $2.49 for an 8 oz. jar.

Instead of canned tomatoes, why not just freeze them while they are fresh?

I don't can tomatoes. I rarely buy canned tomatoes anymore.

Good or bad, everything flip-flops back and forth, usually several times. Depends on who is financing the study, in my opinion.

Just eat what makes you feel good and healthy
I'm with you on this one, can boggle the mind!

Some stupid health freak cow was looking at what I was putting in my basket earlier (which included salami which as you know has a lot of fat). This skinny old cow clearly seemed to "disapprove", as if it's any of her business, meanwhile proceeding to check out her Ryvita, lettuce, tomatoes, cucumber et al. I would be unsurprised completely if she has far more nutritional deficiencies on that diet than I do. Doubt her blood pressure is as low as mine either! (90/60).

It's been a myth for too long that high fat diets are "bad for you". Plenty of indigenous/native peoples have a major proportion of their diet from fat and have none of the chronic health problems crippling the western world today. Last thing I need (especially being underweight) is garbage-useless salad.

Soon as some jerk tells me what I should be eating/doing I do the opposite. Jolly goood.
