Today is Diwali,festival of lights and because my husband is Sikh we will celebrate tonight til the weekend visiting in-laws and friends to celebrate with fireworks,games,dancing and of course lots of food and sweets.
Tonight it is my turn and I will offer moong/green lentil soup,potato,green Bell pepper and potato curry/aloo mattar and mirchi bhaji,palak paneer and chicken tikka with basmati rice ( with cashews,cloves and cardamon).Served with mango and lime pickles,cucumber and red chili raita. Chapatis will be made by us women before we eat. To drink lassi or beer. For dessert I made yesterday gaja pak/carrot halva and laddus and barfi I bought from the Indian store served with chai.

Why is the font for the festival so small in your original post? I see tiny font on some posts and have to strain to read it.
