Butter tart squares or a pan of butter tarts. My absolute favorite!
Recipe, please?
The thing I make that I'm most likely to eat up, though not in a single day, is yellow cake. It's so good, it doesn't need frosting. Here's the recipe. It's not a box cake. I don't always bother to separate the eggs.
cocoa puffs and cocoa krispies are two other items, I have to avoid or i'll each the whole damn box
I call these foods "mistress" foods,,,,, need to avoid them because the temptations are so strong - and you cant stop , leaves you always wanting more and you feel shamed!
I used to make Grandma's Old fashioned Molasses Cookies. I purposely left out the Allspice, using more Cinnamon & Cloves to make up for the deletion. (I would also add Ginger if baking them now.) I also pulled them from the oven while still somewhat soft, instead of crisp like my sister baked them.
The trick is to make 2 or 3 batches at once, so you can eat your fill, and still have plenty left over for the picnic you baked them for! (No, I never ate an entire single batch, but, I was definitely tempted!)
I forgot to add that I always used Black Strap Molasses, instead of regular or mild flavored molasses,
and, I used brown sugar instead of white sugar, without adjusting for the difference in sweetness.
One time a relative was working with Boy Scouts, and they had a lot of dried milk left over. My dad ended up with it, and he passed it on to me. I used it in place of a some of the flour each time I made a batch. My mom said of one of those batches that it was the best I ever made.

Crust
1/2 cup butter
1 cup flour
2 tbsp brown sugar
Combine until crumbly and press into an 8x8 pan
Bake for 15 minutes
Topping
In medium bowl, combine:
2 eggs, well beaten
1/2 cup rolled oats
1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/4 tsp baking powder
1 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1/4 cup butter, softened
Pour topping evenly over crust and return to oven for 15-20 minutes until lightly browned on top
Let cool before cutting
This recipe doesn't double well in a larger pan. (use two 8x8 pans for 2 batches)
I opened this thread to responded but this caught my eye and felt the need to comment really quick. You bake Rice Krispies Bars??
