I'm thinking chicken fried steak for tonight with mashed potatoes and carrots. How can anyone not eat onions cooked in meals????? I have a hard enough time trying to figure out dinners without this curve ball! Guess I'll just have to stick to meat and potatoes. At least the kids eat anything I make and enjoy it! Oh well, only 5 more days and it will be down to 5 of us here. Keep up with the great sharing and wonderful dinner ideas. I have been enjoying reading about it all!
Oh Cyn I feel your pain, my dad hates onions too. It doesn't matter how fine I mince them, he finds them. You are right it is a major challenge cooking without them. Definately meat and potatos. Steak and mashed potatoes. chicken with baked potatos, porkchops and yep you guessed it potatoes. LOL Good luck...

[quote=elston;3849429]NO ONIONS? Hmmmmmmmmmmm hamburger helper for them followed by tuna helper. I feel just a little resentful of special orders from adults, and I am not even there......didn't they ever hear about just leaving it to one side?

I shouldn't be critical of your guests......gott sie dank.....they are yours and not mine![/qu

Gott sie dank????? Elston , Sind sie Deutsch ?

Wow Cyn-blessings to you-I'm with the majority here, they're adults and it's my home and I'm the cook. Be courteous enough for the room and board without special orders.

Order pizza!!!!!!!!!!

Oh Cyn you need my son up there with your guests.

Spanish cooking is thouroughly bases on a "sofrito" that is made up of chopped onions, chopped (cut very tiny) green peppers, tomato sauce, garlic and I don't know what else.

My son, who is 35 years old, will sit there and pick out every single onion and pepper he finds in any of those saucy foods!

I can't believe it. Oh, and he won't eat mashed potatoes either!

I don't know where this child came from really. I eat almost everything and anything and so does everyone else around him.

VP our grandson (17) has been a picky eater all his life. No mashed potatoes, only french fries. Will pick out onions, peppers, etc. His go to meal- double bacon cheeseburgers and fries-no ketchup on anything. All the other 5 eat everything.
