I am cooking a beef stew..(being aware of calories and all that) It is cold and windy and sorta wet here and I am wanting some comfort food.

Yellow rice can wait. I found a package of cubed port steaks in the fridge. A baked potato and some green peas and we are good to go. I keep checking out side to see if chocolate is falling from the sky but so far no luck with that angle. Must be time to hit the market again. We have a serious outage of both chocolate and kettle chips here at our place. I getting the fidgets really bad and must take corrective action. Must fix it soon or NMS will be calling 911 on me.

I am going to add a couple of cut up potatoes....I dont thnk a little will hurt me too much....I am being so very good! I think carrots maybe worse but I am adding a couple of those too. I am very willing to control portion and cut out sugar and most fats...(the stew meat is very lean and I browned it with olive oil PAM). I am making it with a tomato broth not a thickened brown gravy broth.

Elston, carrots are no harm! Infact many people use them while trying to lose weight so enjoy everything. Sounds wonderful!

Hi Nicole and welsome to the thread!

We visited Fredericksburg (TX, if that's where you are?) last weekend and it's beautiful - I have a wonderful souvenir - a jar of local hot pickled okra!
