A yummy Manhattan, some nice T bone steaks on the grill (finished with herb garlic butter), oven fries with olive oil and herbs, brussels sprouts, and fresh peach pie for dessert.

Yellow squash, tomatoes, garlic, scallions roasted with white wine and baked sweet potatoes. Yummy!
Thank you southdown.
You're welcome! Lucky vet indeed! Nice ideas with the veggies too...

I love that dish, and the way it makes the entire house smell wonderful.

Lacey, I'm sorry to hear about your cancelled flight!! Are you booked on another one? I'll be thinking of you! Eat something - you have to keep your strength up!!!

We are having pot roast - again! It is DH's favorite dish and about the only beef we have on a regular basis.

It is time to make the flour and milk roue for some rich, dark gravy.

I added a lb. of mushrooms, quartered onion, red skin potatoes, cabbage wedges and carrots to the broth after cooking the chuck roast for 5 hrs. at 300°F. It gets so tender and rich!!

I hope everyone has a yummy dinner and a good evening. I have to stop back later and see what specialties everyone came up with.

Annie, how do you fry the cabbage and where does the sour cream come in? This really sounds very good.

Evening all, well we survived. Storm went in the other side of the bay from us so all we got was rain. Suns finally out and streets are dry. Not near as bad as they were hyping it up on the news that is for sure. Husband still thinks I am nuts and has been saying I told you so all day but oh well.

Tonight for dinner we had chicken stirfry over noodles. Yummy. Hope everyone has a good night.

MTH, you're such a considerate person to give your spouse a reason to play the "I told you so" game; most of us are not that kind! I feel your relief, though, and I'm always the one to plan and prepare for the worst, too. Someday, there'll come a time when you can say "I told you so" back to him. I hope life, most definitely including cooking, quickly returns to normal.

Around here, it looks like lamb chops in a home-made tomato sauce with Middle Eastern seasoning, couscous and likely the last of the veggies from the CSA box. Yum.....
