Cyn so if you need simple things - mammos, colonoscopy, biopsy, ultrasounds, you go to CA for that or just pay out of pocket? Would you spend enough on medical to be able to deduct from your taxes?
The way I look at it---for non-emergencies I can fly to CA for aprox $200.00 round trip (unless the prices go up dramatically) and get my medical needs taken care of. My health insurance only costs me $40.00 a month there. To get a new health insurance here would cost me a whole lot more then an airline ticket. I would stay at my daughters in CA and get whatever was required. I have a history of cancer and even though it was 30 years ago it's still in my history. Just that alone would make any new insurance very expensive to obtain. I have any perscriptions mailed to me here with no questions asked. I also believe there are Kaiser facalities in other states closer like Virginia but have not really checked that all out yet. There was one here in NC in Raleigh but it closed. Hopefully they will try to open another one close by but for now this is what I do.
Tonight is sloppy joes----never have made them but decided to give it a try. I mean it sounds easy enough! We'll have some french fries to go with it. Only 6 more days until my son and his family will be here if all goes as planned!!
having the chicken tacos tonight since we had to have pasta last night. Looking forward to it. I am going to make homemade spanish rice for on the side. Yummy.

You can't really go wrong there. I like to add extra mustard to the meat mixture and go easy on the ketchup, we don't like them too sweet.
Last night i was all by my lonesome and made cheese ravioli with a red pepper alfredo sauce (jarred!) mixed with sauted garlic, onion, and mushrooms and topped with fresh basil. It was super fast and pretty tasty.....
Tonight I am having a girls night out. We are either doing appetizers and wine at my place (spinach artichoke dip, bacon wrapped artichokes, crab puff pastry thingys) or are going to stop by a friends early Cinco de Mayo party and then hit the town up and go dancing.
I can't wait to sleep in tomorrow! I am so not a morning person and waking up at 5 am is something i never get used to...... TGIF

I envy you with the girls night out. i used to do that back home, we would go out and have appetizers and Margarita's, sigh. Anyway have a good time!
Pork chops tonight, daughter wants me to make them in cream of mushroom soup. Since she has been here seems like every night I am making her something she hasn't had in a long time! That's okay, I don't mind she's my baby...
Probably leftover brisket over noodles, string beans.
I could eat sloppy joe's everynight.
