I just did a little experimenting, and poured a cap of Kahlua over some chocolate ice cream. Its delicious.

No, I really am not a megalomaniac, but I am a bit giddy and goofy tonight, somehow. Not sure where it's coming from; that's usually a characteristic reserved for Fridays, and we're a ways away from Friday yet.

Supper was mighty tasty, and very solid and filling; Mexi-sagna ain't diet food, or at least not the way the spouse makes it. The youngsters who joined us for the meal are a riot, and we had so much fun laughing and talking with them. They are absolutely stoked about today's events in Washington; both voted in their first ever Presidential elections this past November, and they are over the moon with delight about the outcome.

Ah, to be young, when enthusiasm transcends politics... I realize they'll learn, as we did, that the cold hard light of reality is not nearly so lovely as their visions, but it is truly beautiful to watch them and their excitement. It's enough to make this pair of aging hippies feel young again.

And you shall have it, just as soon as the family chef is again with the day. I could give you a half-assed version of it, but far better to wait until the morning and get the real goods from the one who actually puts it together. He's snoring now, but I'll grill 'im in the morning and share the results of the interrogation. No water-boarding, though, I promise.

Very good early morning foodie friends.

Again every thing here sounded awesome. And yes Jax I see a turkey rush coming!

Kitchen closed here tonight as the weather is so decent we're going out! Yes. The words "decent" and "weather" are an oxymororn in MN in winter.

Southdown-the beef ribs I used were boneless and so very inexpensive.

First off I want to thank lacey for taking care of everything here---yesterday was just a "bad" day for me. I even had trouble just sitting in one place much less posting anything! I decided to use the half strength patches and try cutting those in half now. Hey, I'm not smoking so if it takes me a little longer so be it. I don't want to feel like I did yesterday. Might not have all been the patch I could have just been ill too just not sure. I seem to feel ok today!
Looks like everyone had some wonderful dinners to share and I did enjoy reading back and catching up! We ended up have some talapia last night with garlic/butter rice and brussel sprouts. Today I am making up one of my huge batches of spaghetti sauce to freeze so we'll have some of that for our dinner.
A very good morning to everyone!
