Tonight was tri tip steak marinated in a soy/brown sugar/ginger sauce, with peppers, and a mashed cauliflower side. Some steaks I can marinade forever and they never get tender, others ( like tri tip) seem to be tender no matter what.
We had lleftover roast chicken, potatoes, carrots, onion and garlic. I think I'm going to turn it into soup tomorrow. It's supposed to get cold here tonight. I live in Louisiana folks and its supposed to get down to the 30s tonight. That is FREEZING here.
Wow, there's a lot to catch up with for 14 or 15 hours of conversation here. Sending out well wishes to Mr. Lacey, and to ajzjmsmom's mom, and to Noma's cousins; you've had a rough time of it lately. I send strong good wishes for strength and healing to all, and hope that the family members recover quickly. And as you care for your loved ones, don't overlook caring for yourselves, too.
Supper tonight was a fast bowl of leftovers at the office before heading to class again. I snagged one of the two bowls of leftover lo mein from Friday night, and discovered that either I got all the hot peppers in the whole batch or else that the capsacin intensified in the refrigerator over the past couple of days. Whooooooeeee, but them was some hot noodles! Just as well, I needed all the help I could get to stay awake through a three hour video lecture about the nuances between a review and a compilation, described by someone who thinks he's a comedian but is sadly mistaken.
And now to clean up the kitchen, glance through the mail, and head for bed. G'night, all, see you tomorrow.
Well I feel like I have just crammed for a test ha ha! I had to read from my last post which was Friday. Shame on me. Lets see...
Highlandsgal woo woo woo woo I smiled at your good fortune. So happy for you!
Lacey I will have your hub in my prayers and I send to you some sunshine.
Ajzjmom I think you have some well deserved rest awaiting you with that good news.
Nomad thanks for wondering where I was... Like you said "One day at a time."
I do have to say my mom makes some pretty awsome fudge. I have been making my son's halloween costume and it is time consumeing but well worth it when I see his eyes light up each time I have him try it on.
Skbs I have run across 2 recipes that are both low fat. One is a pollo relleno. Expect oohs and aahs when you serve these chicken rolls; each has a cheese stuffed chili pepper inside. Although I am not sure how kid friendly it is. Maybe skip the chilie for'em and just keep the cheese. The other is Vegetable stuffed turkey loaf. This has the stuffing and veggies a little take off of thanksgiving itself. Anyone interested I will post.
Since my treadmill is back in action I have lost five lbs I lose fast, but gain back the same way a bit of a rollercoaster. My metabolism has changed from my teens ha ha I guess working in a italian resturant does not help ha ha Owell I am sticking to it. Night all I missed being part of the convo.

Got home at 8 from conferences and BF whipped up a breakfast-type burrito for me: ground sausage, mushrooms, onion, pepper, eggs, cheese and hot sauce all rolled up inside a tortilla. Yummy and hit the spot!
Thanks for the reminder. I need to shop for bags of those on sale after the holiday. I'll buy 10 if I can find them. My favorite bar. Well one of my favorite bars.
Oh yeah just to make you all smile.... My son was playing around and called me a cow. I said that it is not nice to call people names. I said you can hurt people's feelings. He said that he was sorry, and that I was a nice cow.... ha ha ha I had to smile. The innocence....
One day coming down the escalator at the KC airport my number one son call his grandmother out of the clear blue "Granny Grub Worm". To this day no one knows were he heard such a term. He was quite young at the time. Maybe 5. I need to call it a day before I raid the fridge and have "Dinner the Sequel". See yaz tomorrow. Have a great night everybody.
