Although steaming is better than boiling, stir fry is even better. If you're using frozen vegetables, let them thaw naturally, and then fry them up in a pre-heated skillet with a little olive oil. You'll warm them up just enough to eat them, and leave the nutrients inside. (This doesn't hold true is you simmer it until it is soft.)

Default LeSeur peas

LeSeur peas are the only canned vegetable we eat. Actually, this is the only peas we eat....I don't like frozen, fresh or any other canned brand of peas. I'm also a Birds-Eye microwave fan......can't be the taste.

I just tried the Bird's Eye steam fresh microwavable peas. They were great. Makes it easy to get your vegetable quota for the day.

Default If you can't get it fresh, stick with frozen.

Canned veggies are terrible for you......I don't even know on WHERE to begin.
OK...here it goes....Canned veggies are brought to high temperatures in order for the cans to get canned. (Is it just me, or does that sound weird a bit....??? LOL)
Look at the label on canned veggies, and it will tell you high amounts of sodium (a form of salt, used as a preservative aid)
Since the veggies are held for long durations of time AND exposed to heat, it kills and washes out most of the nutrients and vitamins. (Not to mention get this "oh so desired" metal can taste.....yuck.)
If I can't get the veggies fresh, I just stick with frozen ones.

I like fresh or frozen veggies only. Canned only when I am extremely desperate like when the power is out for days and I have to eat. Only then.
