How did I miss this? Whoever the "nice stranger" was, you really made my day! I'm so grateful for people like you in the world! I know I had nothing to do with this but THANK YOU just the same for what you did. Thank you for your example.

Steel, how's your cat doing?

I am with you. I bought some ramen, bananas, apples, and am eating PB&J, with the other stuff for variety. I also got a large container of oatmeal for breakfast. I just moved here...got rid of tons of food when I moved...could not move it...just paid rent, deposit, all that...no money until I get paid in two weeks...lifestyles of the rich and famous...

Go to the supermarket and sample all their grapes, cherries, and green beans.

For five bucks, you can probably get about 30 bananas.

Or 30 potatoes, if you have a microwave. Zap them whole, give them a minute to cool, eat them like apples. Get some free packets of salt at McDonalds if you have to.

What the hell, go with the big variety pack: 15 bananas and 15 potatoes.
