I've lived in several different states and I check their posts on city-data often but none compare to what I find in the Florida posts. Hateful, bitterness, woe-is-me, no jobs, no life, no hope. What is up with Floridians, native and newly annointed? Why are you so angry. I'm a new Floridian, been here since 2005, and I love it here.

I left Massachusetts in 1997 and my heating bills were $200 - $300 mo. and my electric bill never got below $70. Here I pay in the $200's for everything and we're talking 12 years later. My prop taxes just went down $1,000, yes my HO Ins. is too high, but there's trade offs.

Seriously, what's your problem?

OHhhhh you are brave you are going to get slammed but I agree with you 100%. The majority of replies I get when I ask about Fl are negative and basically I get told to stay out and don't come here and take my job! Thanks for your post.

Makes you wonder, doesn't it?? There's just no comparing the Florida board to the rest of the country.

Everyone has their place. Its simply a matter of finding it. People who question
other peoples observations or take the time to tell them to "move if you dont like it"
need to realize this is a forum where the hatin' info is as useful as the luv fest
type stuff to a lot of people. If someone makes an articulate post as to why they
dont like a place, it should respected as just as valid as a person who has found
'their place'. That said, there is obvioulsy a reason for all the negative Florida
stuff. Anybody should be able to see you need to have a certain type of personality
to live here. Ill keep my negative stuff minimal. but I absolutely abhor this place.
I cannot believe people CHOOSE to live like this. We are bound contractually for
a few more months but we are making plans to leave as soon as it is possible.
I try to find good in any of the many places Ive lived and Floridas nature is that
good. I willl miss that a lot, but in the short time we've lived in this concrete
and fake hell, We've had to remove an angry drunk from our home with a gun,
Ive gotten attacked on my bicycle, gotten shafted by an employer, a temp agency,
and most recently by a shady realtor. We've lived near Philly and NYC and never
had problems like this, ever. Never suffered the sleaze we do here in FL.
To me, Florida earned its reputation. If you like, hey good for you, Im glad...really.
But for me, Im counting the seconds till my parole. To me, Pennsylvania is the
best place Ive ever lived. But, Im sure no one else would agree
To each their own.

I don't get it either. I can understand the ones who don't like it here and at least try to be balanced. Then there are those who come here to "vent" -- constantly! There was a psychiatric study done a few years ago that showed theres absolutel no benefit to "venting" and it often just makes things worse.

You got the good the bad and the ugly in this forum it's what you make of it. My view is you can't change people just how you treat them.

It's mainly because this state is a melting pot of different point of views(too many).

I'm a native and I love it - it's as close to paradise as it gets for me. But frankly I read some of the different boards here and find the same on the California boards and to an extent on the NC boards. Seen it a lot on the Pacific NW boards too. There are miserable people everywhere and they complain everywhere they go because their problems are within.

Ahhh we had the most beautiful rainstorm this evening, then the sky cleared up and it is so fresh and cool! I just love the weather here!

I love the weather too. It rained like hell and when it stopped we drove to the beach and walked. The air seemed cleansed. It was a beautiful evening... still is.

I don't go to that forum. What are they complaining about NC? I thought that was the place everyone loves now.
