I guess compromise goes a long way. We certainly had culture shock when we moved here, but we adapted.
We did not expect the area to change for us, rather we did our best to fit in.
My son's high school has a science teacher who refuses to teach evolution.
But everyone on my son's soccer team managed to get into a good college.
Hey Cil, that sounds like our kind of place. Gotta say I admire your son's teacher.

Well, you'd certainly love it here.
The Ten Commandments are posted in every classroom of our kid's public school.

What is wrong with teaching evolution? 10th grade biology teaches it.

Try Citrus County - Inverness for lake access or Crystal River for gulf access. It is a wonderful place to raise a family!

It's also easy for a school in Florida to push evolution, there are living examples of prehistoric humans everywhere!

Default Rick

Isn't evolution where Yankees turn into human beings?

Deland, Mt.Dora are historic in the country charming places in Florida. These areas are considered Central Florida where i live. Although i love to visit south florida, it is way too crowded for me and i honestly can't afford to live down here.

Default Absolutely!!

SPRING HILL!! And very afforadable. I can't say it enough. Small town feeling, clean and lots of great home values available yet unspoiled and plenty of larger lots. Much potential in this town. Brooksville is nice too but more rural.

What's this "liberal/conservative" crap got to do with anything? Unless you're using "liberal" to imply "when the minorities move in," I'm not buying your argument. If that's the euphemism you're using, however, just come out and say it!

There are plenty of examples of small family oriented towns all across the country that skew both "liberal" minded and "conservative" minded.

FOR THE RECORD, the eeeevil liberal Northeast (Massachusettes, etc.) leads the nation in academic and school performance, has lower divorce and teen pregnancy rates than the South, and lower murder rates!

So enough already. Being "conservative" doesn't make you a Patriot, and plastering the ten commandments everywhere obviously doesn't make people behave, least of all kids in a school. Substance over symbolism, people!
