Down here in Miami I remember other years a truck or airplane would pass spraying for mosquitoes,I don't recall seeing any this year.I know that doesn't mean they didn't pass but I know a couple of nights in the middle of the summer I would walk my dog and would only go half of my normal route as the mosquitoes were biting me like there were no tomorrow.

I have been arguing the point that there are NO mosquitos in Southwest Florida for 6 years. I have never been bitten, not a once. I also hear everybody whining "Oh the mosquitos are terrible!" but have never see the tell-tale red, itchy bump where they've been bitten. I call B____ S_____!!!!! New Jersey is plauged with them!

I'm up in Palm Coast and we elect our mosquito control people. They do a pretty good job and it hasn't been too bad this year, but a couple years ago I talked to a cub scout leader in his driveway for about half an hour at dusk. When I got home, I counted 100 mosquito bites. I had more, but I stopped at 100. My son comes home from scout events and camp outs covered in bites even when he remembers to use spray. Yeah, we get mosquitoes in Florida!!

The mosquitoes havent been that bad recently because of the drought but they are bad now in North Florida because of all the rain that we have had since May.

I live in the country and during the day they arnt that bad unless you go into the woods and get in the deep shade. But around dusk they come out big time.

If you live in a climate where there's a summer and you get ample rainfall during that summer, you will have mosquitoes. The more of a breeze you can generate, the less they will be out biting. Basically anywhere in the eastern US except along the coasts will have them biting unless your city uses chemicals to kill them. These stories about them not being in certain areas, not going to happen unless you live in a desert environment.
