I live in Stuart & I've noticed this summer there's a TON more mosquitoes than in previous years!!

Even in the heat of the day I get eaten alive!! I've talked to other folks in our area & they agree it seems to be a "mosquito year"!!

Anybody else in other parts of Florida notice the same??

I know up here in New York, mosquito population seems to be directly related to how much rain we have had.
Has there been an above average amount of rain in central Florida this year?

There are more likely more mosquitoes in some areas due to the large amount of neglected foreclosure homes, especially with "black pools."

That said, strangely, here where I live in my Lakeland neighborhood I don't seem to be bothered by mosquitoes at all - I think it's all the birds, lizards and frogs around that snack on 'em

We are overwhelmed with them here in Bradenton. Even in the heat of the day there are too many out. And I can't honestly say I have seen mosquito control at all this summer. Probably budget related.

Not in particular. Surprised there hasn't been with all of the foreclosed homes...

I noticed more last year, but then I moved and now live in a golf community. I am sure they spray the greens. Around town? Not really. We had a very, very dry winter and it has only been about the last two months that we have had significant rains.

I don't think we've gotten any more "significant rain" than other years...

The mosquito sprayers have been out 2-3 times a week & we also have a large bird/lizard/frog/dragonfly population around & not many "forclosed" homes in the area either!!

Guess it may just be a natural "cycle" here...

Where I live, it actually seems like far less skeeters this year.
Last year we got eaten alive.

I haven't seen any here in West Bradenton this summer, we have those gnats that fly around, but not mosquitoes.
