Detroit is like Beirut without the air sirens.
You guys in Florida are babies compared to the urban decay we got.

Murder Rate??
We get 46 murders on the weekend.
Second highest in the country

Number one in STDS
Number one in Obesity
Dead last for our pro football team

Thats how we do it in the D!!

Those who've been around any length of time recognize this:

OR THIS:
"You reckon we can drive right on through this stuff? Disney WOYLD has to be close, Bertha"

This is a good way to avoid heavy Season traffic:

Well pointed out!!! The fires in South and Central Florida were hell on earth man.

As a side note to the forgetful ones, this was 2004/2005... the most fun year to be in FL!!

Three Hurricanes in 2 months....

This could be YOU.... be ready....

At least Driving to work was... IMPOSSIBLE!! lol No pay though.... grrrr

Oh this will be your home during Hurricane Season!! I love seeing the "sunshine"!! LOL

Finally, let's remember:

There is plenty wrong with Orlando (and Cnetral and South FL in general). For starters lots and lots of crime, extremely high cost of living, staggering wages, jobs being created are all Disney jobs or hotel or fast food jobs that pay $7.50/h, etc. People here are constantly ticked off and fight people in traffic. It is rare not to see an act of violence in traffic in Orlando these days.

Traffic is another thing that kills Orlando a lot. I-4 (the interstate artery of Orlando) is a madhouse. We spend 1h to 1 1/2 hours each way to and from work daily. That is a 13 mile drive!! Crazy man.

Not to mention that Orlando is the Angriest City in the USA.

http://www.menshealth.com/cda/articl...0013281eac____

The last time an entire U.S. city got monumentally mad was back in 1864, when a guy named Sherman paid a little visit to Atlanta. This isn't to say that it takes 100,000 invading troops to make a town lose its temper -- Orlando has never been a strategic military target, and yet the folks there are furious. Yes, Orlando, home of the Magic Kingdom and mandated happiness. Who knows? Maybe living in Goofyville wears thin after 35 years.

(From most to least angry cities)

1. Orlando, FL

2. St. Petersburg, FL

3. Detroit, MI

4. Baltimore, MD

5. Nashville, TN

6. Wilmington, DE

7. Miami, FL

8. Memphis, TN

9. Jacksonville, FL

10. St. Louis, MO

11. Chicago, IL

12. Tampa, FL

ENJOY FOLKS!!

Default The best hurricane pics!

Reemmeber Charlie?? That one was a *****!!! I didn't have power for 3 days, it was 100 degrees, 100% humidity. We lost ALL the frozen food (although we did everything to save the food, had ice and all), it sucked!

Here is a reminder of lovely Hurricane Charlie. Oh Charlie was just one...we have been hit by like 6 hurricanes since 2004, it is a MIRACLE "El Nino" cooled the waters down some.....

On Friday the 13th, August 2004, Hurricane Charley loomed over

The Morning after...

This is a typical roof after a hurricane. You know what wate rintrusion means in FL??? MOLD!! People lost their homes entirely after the hurricane(s).

This is what water intrusion does. Well, in this case, the drip is a minor issue compared to the mold.

This is the mold/drywall damaged caused.

This will be your home after a hurricane.

Think some buildings are safe... well check this nice, newly constructed hotel!!

Have you ever seen a fistfight for a gallon of gas??

Try not being able to get anything. How do you like that?

Yeah... compared to Detroit, Orlando is a safety-zone.

But again, to MOST people who don't live in the current "Crack Town USA", yeah Orlando is nice. Most folk that come down here though, are people from nice communities in their home states. Coming here is a shock to them.

Also there is the affordability issue.... most people have good jobs where they current live and when they come here, struggle to get A job, and the wages are so low, people suffer a lot.

The low wages are justified by companies who pay you "sunshine Dollars". This is also known as the "Sunshine Tax".

Hopefully you can put ketchup on Sunshine Dollars and feed them to your kids!

Merry Christmas!!

umm not from Florida, but how again do you survey the top ten angriest cities. That's seems like a tough classification with many variables.

Mike everything was perfectly explained until you talked about the pro football team. That's what makes a terrible city! lol
