I would like to hear it from people who currently live in Florida. Do you feel Florida is a good place to live? Aside from all those tourist attractions, what's the reality of living in Florida? Is it safe to live there? Are the job prospects good? Is it affordable? Please give me your thoughts.

Thanks.

As a retiree, I'd have to say it's wonderful. However, I would not want to pursue a career or raise a family here.

As a young professional, I'd have to say it's wonderful. Actually, I love pursuing a career and raising a family here.

This is a highly diverse state with characteristics that are unique to different geographic areas. This site will give you an idea of job availability. https://www.employflorida.com/

Very few "professionals" are asking about employment on this forum. As a professional, I'm sure you're able to choose schools and neighborhoods.

I've lived here for most of my life. I have TRIED to figure out if it is a good place to live. But no matter how much I try to find good things about Florida, I find 10 things I hate about it to counter that. I love the beaches, I love the green, I love the palms, the diverse food and restaurants, and that's about it. Everything else about Florida irritates me and has taken a toll on me and that's the reason I'm leaving. I can't handle it anymore. I feel for anyone trying to raise good moral kids here. This is one of the worst states to raise kids. If I didn't cling close to my religion, I would have ended up like one of the many young fools out here. Thank God for God. I am officially out of here in a few weeks and I really don't advise anyone to move to FL. There is truly something in the air or maybe it's the weather that makes people act like they do out here and sucky quality of life the way it is.

Born and raised here. As far as I'm concerned, it's the best place in the country to live, for everything.
