There are about 600 clubs in The Villages and approx. 380 homes are sold monthly, there's about 76 +/- restaurants there too, homes in a variety of styles and prices, quite a few rec centers w/in The Villages and each has a clubhouse and pool. Like F.Frank said, it's not for everyone but is certainly an interesting place to visit and check out, they have a lifestyle program where you can stay there for several days (depending on your schedule) and actually live like a 'villager', drive a golfcart, ride bikes, partake of the many restaurants, visit the shops (several Publix and Walgreens as well as Targets and Walmarts) and see the entertainment/vendors nightly on the Squares.

That is one thing we love about visiting The Villages.....seeing all of the cool golf carts. Some go for over 20-30k and are unbelievable!

The Villages is out in the middle of nowhere and it's quasi cult-like with everyone having the same "Wheeeeeeeee...." mindset. They're all having fun and so won't you but you'd better think just like them.
