It's not about how they look - it's the quality of the material used. They are real sheepskin - when you buy a quality made, real leather jacket, you don't expect it to be cheap, do you? Any "lookalike" Ugg that is not at least $100 is probably not real sheepskin. If you're happy with that, fair enough, I have plenty of faux clothing too... but just be aware that it won't be real sheepskin.
There are other brands which make real sheepskin boots - like Emu Australia, which are not quite as expensive as the Ugg Australia brand but like I said, they still won't exactly be cheap. This is the brand I bought and it saved me about £50 (GBP - so about $80 USD) but they were still £120.
