Has anyone heard of the National American Miss pageant? We went to an Open Call and my child got a call saying she was "accepted" and can compete in the contest, but have to take classes prior to that for 450.00 dollars. This seems like a good pageant as the girls under 13 are disqualified if they wear make up etc. I have an issue with the money-anyone know anything about them? Also, anyone know about the Cinderella Scholarship Pageant?

Cinderella Scholarship Pageant

But this is why she has to take classes- (look what they are judged on)
National American Miss : Contests

There is a way you are suppose to act that is not like real life if that makes any sense. Also usually pageants usually have an entry fee which may be included in the classes? Ask.
You can do fundraising to pay for it if you don't have the money. But that type of thing is not a cheap thing to get into.

Hahaa haa! That little kid was hilarious. They really don't have strict rules in the baby pageants like they do in teen and adult ones.

But if you want a real life example of something that actually does make a huge difference just watch how most people walk on a daily basis. Then watch someone who dances walk. Most people do not even know how to stand in a proper way and walk in proper way that is flattering to them.
A runway walk is different than a daily walk as well.

They should be training you on what to say too. Its just like any other competition. Have to learn the game to play it!

Default pageant

Well supposedly, the National American Miss is nothing like Toddlers and Tiaras and I never wanted my daughter to be in one because it is based on their looks etc, but this one seemed different-am I wrong...maybe I should look into all these things more carefully!

That is an extreme viewpoint presented on film but you are right. Always look into anything like that carefully. For example there are a lot of toddler comps that would not allow a belly shirt. She would get disqualified for that.
