My husband and I are planning for a vacation to Vegas. I had never been there before but I have heard sooooo much about it and I am so exited.

I am just worried as to what I should wear. I really dont have many party-kind of cloths as I had been working for the past 5 years in a strictly formal environment and now I am totally stuck. Do I have to buy a whole new wardrobe (which i cant afford right now) or I can actually make do with formal's (I cant right!)?

Can someone please help me suggest what to wear in Vegas?

Where whatever you want! Believe me, everyone else is! haha.

I like vintage/retro style. The only difference I made to my style while visiting vegas is I went slightly more elaborate w/ my evening makeup and hairstyles. I wore my same clothes.

If you're just going to casinos and hanging out, you don't need anything special except comfy walking shoes. Nobody dresses up in Vegas unless they are going to a show and dinner at night. Even then, it's not all that formal. Do be prepared to do a LOT of walking. Be prepared for lots of crowds and waiting for things.

Oh good to know that I can get away with my trousers and shirts. I was watching TV the other day and I was wondering if I ahould dress up in skimpy cloths too, which is not my style at all.

Casual unless your planning on going to clubs to party then a "skimpy" outfits would be the norm I'm over age so they don't let me in anymore especially if I wore my skimpy dress

Wear whatever you're comfortable in! Unless you plan to go "clubbing", then you do NOT need fancy clothes! And do bring some comfortable shoes--it's about 1/2 mile between casinos--and just to go all through a casino you'll walk and walk and walk.....
Unless you have a "formal" affair to attend, you can leave that stuff at home!

When are you going? In the winter, it's pretty cold, but starting in April, it warms up nicely!

I agree with everyone who says it is important that you wear comfortable clothes and shoes. Only in the movies have I ever seen anyone "dressed up" in Vegas. You may want one dress/shirt with nicer jeans to have if you plan to go out at night to a fancier club, but you can wear the same thing in the Vegas casinos that you would wear if you were going to Disney World for the day or the local mall.

You evidently haven't been during Viva Las Vegas...haha. Those gals DOLL IT UP! But even though i was there for the event, and I did dress up, you're right about the walking shoes! As much as I wanted to wear my cute heels every day, I had to carry them around most of the time and wear walking sandals when I was crusing the strip. We stuck to the off strip hotels most of the time but they are just as big so yeah, walking shoes...walking shoes....walking shoes!!!

Strip steert...is this the street where all casinos are and all the major attractions are? We are going to be there in April 1st week (as against last week of Feb) as my hubby didn't get vacation time as we have planned earlier.
