Strip steert...is this the street where all casinos are and all the major attractions are? We are going to be there in April 1st week (as against last week of Feb) as my hubby didn't get vacation time as we have planned earlier.
"The Strip" is basically Vegas. It's a long street that has most of the major hotels and attractions, including shopping, rides etc. North Strip is kind of depressing and the area is a little dodgy. But you can get some GREAT hotel deals there. The Stratosphere is not all the fancy but the price is great and for five dollars a day you can get an all day pass on the Deuce, a double decker bus that goes up and down the strip as well as Downtown. It's on the far north end of the strip. Skip Circus Circus or The Sahara since both are overly loud (the former has an indoor amusement park that is fun but I would NEVER stay there due to that very thing). The Sahara also has a good roller coaster.
Center Strip is WHERE YOU WANT TO BE. It has most of the nicest hotels and attractions including Caesar's Palace (and the AMAZING FOrum shops), The Mirage, Treasure Island, The Venetian, The Bellagio (where Oceans 11 was filmed), Paris Las Vegas, The Flamingo etc. The most action is right there and you can sometimes find great deals at The Flamingo, Bally's, or The Imperial Palace.
South Strip is where the newer hotels are, The MGM Grand, The Tropicana, and The Excalibur are older. But there is also newer hotels like Mandalay Bay, New York New York, and The Luxor. Waking distance between these monster hotels is daunting. Center Strip puts you in closer walking distance to fun stuff....
You shouldnt have to change out your wardrobe for this. Heck, I know of many people that go frequently and they simply wear their everyday clothes, unless they plan on going to a really exotic club or something. Thats about the only time you really should need to play 'dress-up'.

haha...maybe that's the difference. For the Rockabilly girls, this IS our every day look. So maybe that's why everybody thinks we 'dress up' every day...

Wear what I see in Atlantic City casinos: white parachute-pants and matching hoodie with gold/silver designs and rhinestones, matching gold/silver open-toed sandals, gold/silver lame' purse, an upswept platinum blonde 'do, and glittery sunglasses.
(just kidding!)
