Sorry to once again post on an old thread, but thought it might be helpful for anyone considering laser treatments at a "medspa". I am pleased for you, yellowsnow, that you enjoyed a positive experience. It's now a little more than two months after I was burned in IPL treatment, and I'm left with large discolored marks on my neck skin whereas before the treatment, my neck was clear. The discoloration is no longer fading at this point, and my next step is to see what a dermatologist can do to correct it. The technician responsible for the damage was fired after the spa manager examined my skin, but it's a case of too little too late. My dermatologist's fees will unfortunately be out of pocket to me as the "medspa" is suddenly closing their salon and going out of business and I have no recourse with the spa unless I wish to sue, which isn't a path I'd choose unless absolutely necessary.

I wish I'd listened to my intuition before submitting to IPL treatment at a franchise, but I hope my experience will serve well to others to think carefully before going the same route.

Also done glycolic, salicylic, etc etc acid peels. Actually just had one done last week. Nothing miraculous but makes my skin glow and is a nice exfoliation.

Would NOT do a acid peel at home, unless it is a fairly low glycolic concentration, but def not TCA, that can really burn your skin.

I've done IPL, everything went safely but I did not do enough sessions for thorough results, but did see a bit of lightening of sun spots. Nothing against IPL, just because of personal reasons between hubby and the office.
