Hi everyone. I usually get acrylic but this time tried the gel and haven't really liked it. Anyways, Im at the end of my cycle and need new set but have decided to take them off. Can I just use acetone to soak them in to remove or do I need something special because they are the gel and not acrylic?? TIA

I shudder just thinking of removing them yourself! I have my UV gel nails removed at the salon. They soak them first, then peel and file them off with a nail file/emory board. I don't think you can really soak them off completely just with nail polish remover.

You can with pure acetone as its exactly what they use at the salon. I just wanted to see if anyone else has done it. I'm working two jobs right now so if I can sit at home in the front of the tv and soak them off I will. My bf owns a dremel and has the same tools the salon uses. It's really going to be hard for me to get to the salon to sit there for over half an hour to soak my nails off.
