I wear long sleeve, pinpoint cotton, dress shirts year round. Fortunately I don't have sweaty armpits. I prefer a starched shirt over a non-iron shirt.

This, especially if you have to wear a tie. Short sleeve dress shirts are a ridiculous look, IMHO. Also, when it's above 90 degrees, you are hot no matter what, short sleeve, long sleeve, no shirt, it doesn't matter.

Looove the rolled up sleeves! It gives of a casual, devil-may-care vibe.

Short-sleeved business casual polos, or short-sleeved button up dress shirts?

Two totally different aesthetics.

My HS history teacher always wore a dress shirt with the sleeves rolled up, tennis shoes, and a watch. He said it was so he always looked like he was working hard and getting things done before deadlines.

I had to wear long sleeve shirts and I always hated them so I rolled them up when the jacket wasn't on.

Been that way for almost 30 years..

I agree. I like the look - a few buttons undone, with cotton slacks or jeans and a comfortable, casual leather shoe. Mmmmmm.

While I'm not a boy...............

....................long story short, there are those of us who wear long sleeves in all weather because of sun protection and protection against the bush. I often wear my long sleeves down but cuffs undone for sun protection. If I have to walk through brush, then I will probably have the cuffs button and between my clothes from feet to neck and my brush hat, it isn't a problem.

If I'm place where I am not worrying about either, then I may roll my sleeves up for the temperature.

Go to New Orleans. Trust me. You'll wear a short sleeve with a tie. Fast. It's hot as hell down there.
