Okay, I'll admit, I'm not really all that savvy about purses and I'm not a purse fashionista or a slave to some designer label. BUT I do like a purse with a long strap so I can wear it over my shoulder and have the purse hang at about the hip area. They are really hard to find. Do these Fossil purses have the long strap? Because I am always thinking whenever I get a purse I like, I have to go to a shoe repair place to have a long strap put on the purse so it is actually useable and comfortable to carry around.
Fossil bags are all that and more. They wear like iron, long strap, great pockets, fun colors - or plain leather. I like mixing them with an opposite colored Rolf's wallet for fun. And reasonable prices!
If I saw someone with a worn out cheap purse my first impression would be that they are either low on funds and can't afford a better purse, they don't care about their things and don't take care of them, or they have poor taste. If it is the second one, than who is this person to judge someone that does take care of their things and has enough pride in themselves to feel they are worth buying things of quality. It's all nonsense to me. So many more important things to think about....right?
This made me laugh.. you first state you'd judge someone with a bad looking purse, then you end it by saying it's all nonsense and there's more important things to think about. ROFL.
I've never owned a Fossil bag. Might have to check them out. I'm a watch collector and I LOVE Fossil watches! Used to own some Fossil sunglasses too! Good quality stuff!

Yes, they have to hit right about hip area. I don't want them well below my hiney or up under my armpit. I have about 6 Fossil purses that all hit right above or at my hip. I have the Coach Bleeker Large Flap and it hits in the right spot as well and has one large strap. I'm picky about the straps too...... I won't carry the purse if it falls off my shoulder and I'm always having to put it back up. The salespeople might not like me as I like to "try on" the purses. I put it on my shoulder (the one I will carry it on) and walk around the store w/ it on just to see how well it works. I fiddle to see how easy it is to grab my keys out of it if I'm walking and can not stop to look down, etc.
Fossil has purses of all sizes from small clutch bags to large hobos. I just looked at their site and they do not have their spring/summer collection up just yet. Coach has put some of their spring purses out and they have some that I REALLY LOVE! My problem would be trying to decide which color to get. I LOVE the ones they have w/ the small scarf tied in a bow on the strap. I'm not a frilly person but those are some GREAT LOOKING BAGS and the scarf gives it this really nice splash of color that could really compliment the right outfit.
I only have a few items to put in a purse,so for the longest time I had one of those tiny Nine West bags. Then my hubby bought me a new wallet that was bigger than my purse, so I had to get a new one. I am not into designers, so when I shop for a purse, I just head to TJMaxx. It is all about the size and strap comfort for me as well. I prefer my purses to hit about mid torso, because I can't stand walking along and having it bump against my hip. I am fairly tall, at 5'8", so it can be a challenge to find just the right one, especially when I don't want to pay an arm and a leg for it.
I currently own 2 purses, a black one and a chocolate brown one. I found them both at TJMaxx at the same time(about 6 months ago), I paid $39 each for them and they are Franco something or other, can't remember the rest of the name right now.

Though, I wouldn't call myself a designer for the life of me! I'd just rather spend maybe $20 in materials to make a bag rather than spend $200 on just buying it.
This reminded me of how instead of spending hundreds of dollars on a prom dress (like so many other girls at my former high school), I spent $50, because I designed it, and my mother made it. I am still pleased with that dress all of these years later...
But I think it's cool and very creative to be able to make your own purses. Wish I had such a talent.
Alright, I took two shots because my camera hates me. For some reason, my hubby played with the settings... so I can only get good detail in night mode. However, the first image is how it actually looks.
The second image was taken in night mode - the "blue-white" areas are where the faux leather is.

Your kidding, right? You MADE that bag? Girl - do you know how many people would buy those? You are keeping a talent from the world! Can someone say "web site!" ? Sweetie, if you like to make these - you need to get busy and start selling! I would love a chocolate one!
I have two "hideous" Dooney & Bourke bags that are about 4 years old, and I haven't bought any since. My last Dooney "all weather leather" bag I carried for years and years. I also have a 20 year old Gucci bag. I don't buy bags very often, but I am actually buying two this weekend from a "Butterfly Boutique" home party that had the cutest leather bags. One is a lime green. I usually prefer designer bags, but the quality and style of these were too cute to pass up.
I find it laughable that someone would judge someone else over their purse. Can you imagine someone staring hard at your purse trying to figure out who the designer was, and making sour faces? LOL
YES! That is it! The black one is fairly plain, but the chocolate one has straps that look like snake skin(maybe??) with gold buckles on the front. I bought them both because the size was perfect and each one had pockets on the inside perfectly sized for my cell phone. I live in an area where L.L.Bean and Crocs seem to dominate in terms of fashion, so I really don't have to worry about anyone judging me based on my accessories.
