Today was the first time in 2.5 years I made use of Bar soap while taking a shower. I rarely do so, and refer to it as "emergency backup soap" which I use once my mens body wash stash runs empty. I would like to know how often you use Bar Soap while showering. Please feel free to pitch in and share your thoughts.
That's all I use. I don't like those body wash things. I use all natural cold processed soap that I have purchased at crafts fairs and online vendors. Once in a while I will buy some Zum which smells *amazing*. I won't use commercial soap unless I am desperate.
I used to just use body-wash, but lately have returned back to soap. For a while, soap was all I used to wash up. Then when I got in college I started using body wash, and ever since then I honestly ALWAYS just grabbed body wash. Within the last few weeks, I've been using bar soap. I'm noticing that my skin is not as dry, or itchy, and that it's more economical. I actually use bar soap everyday--just like I did body-wash(sometimes twice a day), and noticed that I don't run out as quickly as I do with body-wash. I have to buy body-wash, every 8-10 days and it cost close to 4-5 dollars. Where as, a 2 pack of bar soap is like 3.49 and last me for almost 3 weeks. Also smells just as good, and I actually feel *cleaner*.
Like the some of the others who prefer bar soap, it seems like I have to use more of the body wash, either because it doesn't lather the way I like it, or it's too runny. When I do use body wash (usually at the gym because it's easier to store in my bag), I use Neutrogena Body Wash with the grapefruit scent. No bar soap on my face though. I use a foaming facial cleanser and I use liquid soap for handwashing.
I prefer body wash. I keep bar soap around because that's what my boyfriend prefers and every now and then I forget to buy more shower gel for his house and have to use his bar soap. I hate it, my skin always feels so dry afterwards.
What a shame; you could have used baking soda and vinegar and cleaned the shower in 15 minutes.
That's what I was thinking, lol! Only I use lenon juice/fresh cut lemon half instead of vinegar. Works the same, w/o the smell.

Yes, but it's a PLANT based fat/oil, which is better than animal based for most people. That's one reason why cosmetic/hygenie companies switched from animal fat to veggie oils for soaps and such.
But PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE never use "baby oil" or ''vaseline" on your skin, you are just BEGGING for trouble!!! That's a mineral oil/petroleum based oil; and WILL NOT absorb into your skin, it just lays on top and clogs up everything. It's SOOOO bad for ya!

Well, that's the same way I felt while showering in my cousin sisters house for the first time. Women's body wash is too sticky, flavored, and oily. So nowadays I take my men's body wash over there if I am staying for a couple days. Problem solved .
I have always used dove soap, no dry skin and no soap scum in the tub/shower. I have tried other soaps (bar & liquid), so far dove is the best for me
