Tattoo's have become a blase, trendy fashion statement in my opinion.
Totally agree, especially here in So Cal....when the cashier at Ralph's can have 3/4 sleeve, sorta takes the 'bad' image away... LOL
I have a tattoo that while I don't actively regret getting it, it was a stupid-drank-too-much with my buddies type thing. It's on my upper arm and is smallish, so I can conceal it easily.
I had a pierced ear, but that was back when I was late teens/early 20's the hole has been closed up for 20 yrs now.....
So... not sure where that puts me in the poll.......

I don't know anyone who got a tattoo to be 'bad'... My tattoo sleeve is mostly birds and flowers, definitely not 'bad' in any way Considering I'm an engineer who works in corporate aviation I'd say I'm the least bad person out there.
My tattoo artist is booked 6 months in advance and is cleaner than the doctors office I go to, so there is definitely no drunken decisions where he's concerned

Always knew you are one of a kind my friend - not so easily labeled

I would put that down as tattoo and body piercing.
Strangely enough, I don't mind tattoos, but I hate body piercings (dislike ear piercings on men). I have my ears pierced and nothing more, but I have tattoos and will get more. Personally, the only stupid tattoo is the one you regret. Since I don't and won't ever regret mine, they will never be "something stupid" I did at XYZ time. Even my "last minute, for my friend" one isn't something I'll regret.
Can't say I've met anyone without piercings or tattoos (and the poll is leaning that way, interesting). Usually people I know have one or the other (and some just have tattooed cosmetics).

Yeah, I was just referring to the stereotypical image of a big burly biker type......
I too have an "engineer" type job so it works out that I can cover my tat. Course having the long hair in a ponytail and the goatee still stereotypes me, but that's OK, I can usually convert people over with my actual job performance.

I think people who pierced their ears but let it grow over are counting themselves as not having their ears pierced.
