The broads in that video don't come across to me as "sophisticated". They come across as self-centered, narcissistic, and childish. Just my 2 cents.
That is what people who spend $1000 per month on beauty products are.
Anyone who buys cosmetics that costly really doesn't appreciate how much they have been manipulated by the manufacturers and the beauty industry. These products cost a few dollars per bottle to make - and they buyers are simply choosing to be raped for profits.
Beauty cannot buy happiness. I am completely beyond miserable. I stopped myself from spending a lot of cash on a product I had been wanting for a few weeks now. I have to be honest with everyone here and myself, until I saw this YouTube video yesterday, I was spending like there's no tomorrow.
Today I did not spend any money and from here on out I am going to focus more on saving so I can get something I really want; a condo on the beach for $150,000. That's a realistic goal and I can get there by the time I'm 30 if I start saving now.
I do not want to be like the woman in that YouTube video. It's so fake. Here is the comment I left for the video yesterday:
"This song makes me sick and it to me just is promoting a life of "world-class luxury" that maybe 1% of society can afford. Vanity in the younger generation is becoming very popular, and I have to say that music like this is only adding to the problem. This song has no emotional soul to it whatsoever, which seems to be deeming in popularity these days. This is strictly my 2 cents and I am not here to judge."
I certainly do not want to be deemed in a vain way. I am a very good person. I do care about myself and others. It just doesn't feel right to live in this $475 apartment with hundreds of high-end skin care products. I don't know whether I should sell them on eBay or what, but I'm done with them. I I will be happy with a bar of soap, shampoo, deodorant and a toothbrush.
I dispose $1000 dollars a month into beauty. I'm left with just enough to pay rent and buy food. I don't have any friends. I don't know what to say, but I'm tired of it. I am quite frustrated with my life at the time.
But, beauty, clearly cannot buy happiness. And that's all I have been living on and I'm done. There's other things to do and people to meet.
Please offer your thoughts and suggestions.
Things don't have the power to make you feel good about yourself if you're not a superficial person.
Superficial people have nothing going on except what they have, and look like.
From posting history, it appears OP lives in Tennessee (not many beach houses there I would think--maybe that's why they are only $150,000). Oh, and OP seems to also be a guy.
Good for you, OP, if you truly want to change your ways.
I'm a little puzzled about the beach house, though. If you honestly think you can save $150,000 to purchase a beach house by age 30, working part-time, you must make one heck of a nice hourly wage! How about using some of that money instead for some continuing education, or to develop a business doing something you are passionate about? The beach house can wait. (And the other posters are correct - it's highly unlikely you'll ever find a beach house, even on an inland lake, for only $150K.)
There are plenty of venues in which a 20-something person can make friends. Choose something you are interested in and go for it! A class, a sport, volunteering, a hobby club, whatever. There are organized groups for just about any interest you can imagine.

I don't get it. A lot of women would kill to live her kind of lifestyle. I know I would be happier living a life of luxury, eating at high end restaurants, limo rides, designer clothes, I love the glitz and glamour.
Beauty can buy happiness,in my opinion. If you are gorgeous you can just find a rich man to take care of you for the rest of your life. That is until you become old and unattractive (your looks fade away)
I feel my best when my hair is done, nails are done, clothes fit and look good, skin glowing, and make up applied.
My first thought is that you are a DUDE and as a DUDE you should not be worried about "beauty". You should hit the weights and man-up and/or bulk-up.
My second thought is that you dont need to spend a lot of money to feel good about yourself. A great sea sponge from Bikini Bottom once said something about "faux-sistication" and being "all faux-sisticated". This means, dont spend all of your money on stuff like this. Find a hobby and get out and meet people and make friends.
