I am going to take a good look again. They are different styles, the real one has very little hardware. There is a difference of atleast 10 yrs. between the two.
Well, I'm a man and sometimes like to carry a men's bag. However, I think Louis Vuitton and Gucci are seriously overrated. I think it's all about the bling and how the money talks when it comes to these brands. For certain people, that may be okay, but I like to socialize with a diverse group of people and would not feel comfortable carrying a $3,000 bag around some of the people I spend my time with, including my family. I would not even feel comfortable taking it to work.
I think Aaron Barak carries a nice line of elegant, yet still bloody expensive line of handbags for men. I do not own one, but have seen them online and in stores. They are very fashionable and fit the image of a luxurious lifestyle. Also, the bags are less likely to be flashed in somebody's face than some notorious brands, and they are more universal and work friendly. However, you're still going to be paying a good $700 for a bag.
But, you DON'T have to pay that much to own a quality handbag. You can find a fashionable hand bag in a department store for under $300. I own 2 handbags like this. They are very durable and perfect for many occasions.
Of course, if that doesn't fit your budget, I'm sure you can get a nice one at an outlet store. The ones I have seen are very nice and attractive.
Louis Vuitton and Gucci are very impulsive brands for me, not to mention there are a lot of fakes. I just don't bother.
Also, Lacoste carries some very trendy and fashionable handbags for men and women. They are more affordable than I first thought. You can get a really nice one for under $200 on their website. These look more versatile than any other bag I have seen. They appear to be very much for everyday wear, which is great. By the way, they have a really cute men's wallet on sale for less than $30 right now. Great buy!
I admit that I have a few Louis Vuittons. But I have only purchased them when vacationing in Europe, kind of a memoir of the trips. Also, the stores here just don't compare to the ones there, they carry so many pieces, styles, much larger than the shops I have seen in the states.
I have the LV Petit Noe in epi leather. It's a really understated bag and I've always liked LV leather. I don't like the monogram bags though, never have.
Louis all the way. I got my first LV Speedy back in the mid 80s and have bought and sold collectible vintage Louis off and on for about 10 years.
The thing that Gucci-vintage has over LV is they had such an assortment of stuff back in the 80s-TV Guide covers, phone books, gun cases the list goes on -cool stuff.
I read they actually bring Chinese workers into those Italian plants to keep labor costs down.
