What I use to apply my makeup:

1. Foundation- I use my finger to dab on spots of it in certain places. Then I blend it in with a makeup sponge.

2. Blush- I use a brush made for the blush applicator.

3. Mascara- I use the mascara wand that it comes with.

4. Eyeshadow- I use the small eyeshadow brush it comes with.

5. Lipliner, eyeliner, and browliner- A pencil to make them come out just a little bit more.

So, I use a variety of brushes, sponges, pencils, and a q-tip (to get the excess off my skin or off my eyeliner and such), when I do my makeup. It may seem a lot, but it really isn't. I don't wear a lot of makeup these days.

The more I can put on with my fingers, the better. I'm pretty low-maintenance, and like it if my entire beauty regime can fit in a tiny pouch...I don't like to have to have an arsenal of tools that gets toted around in addition to products. Typically, I put loose powder, if I'm wearing it, on with a puff or big brush, and everything else goes on with fingertips. I like cheek stains rather than powder blush, and smudge any eye shadow on with a fingertip. The only tool I use regularly is an eyelash curler.

the only makeup i really wear is eye makeup. i use either the sponge applicators, which i buy in bulk lol, or my fingers, which works pretty well. ive tried the brushes, and i just cant seem to make it work...either i make a frigin mess everywhere, OR the pigment gets lost, because i like the colorful eyeshadows.

Mostly brushes. I use MAC products, either a liquid or cream foundation and blush and I apply those with a brush. I apply a transluscent powder with a brush over that. I use powder shadows and apply those with a brush. On lips, I use a lip pencil to both line and fill in, and use a brush to apply lipstick or gloss over the pencil. Because I dye my hair black, I use a small brush to apply a black powder to my eyebrows so they don't get lost in the "sea of darkness" that is my hair.

I've been using a sponge for foundation but just bought a foundation brush from Ben Nye. I have yet to try it, tho.
I buy alot a brushes in the brush department of Michael's and art supply stores. The ones that come free are never very good, so out they go.
By the way, I must have about 15 brushes now of all types.

I have many makeup brushes but hardly use them except for the eyeliner and blush brush.... lazy... Foundation brush wastes too much foundation.
