A lot of my friends listen to "classic" singer/songwriters from the 60s/70s/80s though. I mostly know these and I like some of their songs. I'm not really knowledgeable about more "modern" Italian pop music.
Also, since I live in Bologna, I have heard quite a few partisan songs, which get sung on some occasions like this year for the 70th anniversary of the liberation.
Quite the same with brazilian music, I preffer to listen to mostly 80's music. Contemporary music around here is really unpleasant. I've heard Michel Teló got very popular in Europe.
There are few more recent things that I like more recent, but they're not brazilian, like Marron 5, Fun, Imagine Dragons and something from Lady Gaga.
