Positioning defensive forces inside NATO countries is called a threat to Russian security. This is nothing new to hear them claim this. All repressive regimes say the same thing. That's why Putin/Russia supports like minded Venezuela and Assad, as he seeks to defend their model of governance. It doesn't serve the average people very well but there are plenty of well honed methods to keep them in check. The Putin doctrine is anyone ruling a country has the right to kill a citizen who wants someone else to be president.
How did Hitler convince Germans to attack Europe? He did it by using the same rhetoric, convinced them that hostile foreigners want to dominate them so they better move first.
With all due respect you need to do some studies on the history of that part of the world and on combined arms warfare in general.
You can start with Robert Forcysk and his books about WWII in the east. Just a suggestion.
Have you been to Crimea? I don't agree with HOW Russia took it back, but the people there other than the Tatars were mostly Russian. Ukraine screwed this place over and wonders why they are happy to be "reunited"... I feel bad for the Tatars though, they are worse off now.
Its never going back to Ukraine unless the people there would want to and I find that very unlikely to occur anytime soon. Ukraine is still being stupid about this trying to milk support from the west... instead they should make a financial agreement and be done with their claims to Crimea. I'm a big supporter of Ukraine so I have no reason to say this without believing it.
If you are saying its Turkish, well its not Turkish any more than Odessa is.
How can Russians trust US, if US expand NATO to the East and support coups in the post-Soviet countries? Look at Ukraine. Putin was ready to cooperate with the US in early 2000. But US preferred the path of confrontation.
The US is as trustworthy as a hungry anaconda. In the last 117 years how many of those years has there been peace in any arena America was involved in? The US air force has been bombing somebody damn near every year since 1939 in one form or another and that's just the small picture.
NATO countries are not exactly foreign in the understanding of other NATO countries including the US. We're one big happy safe and secure family.
Really? And what is a cultural and historical connection between US and Romania?

Yes. NATO is the military alliance against Moscow. And it expands to the east. It is not right.

Yes. Russia needs neutral countries at its borders that are not part of NATO. These are the Russian geopolitical interests. You must take this into account if you have the desire to be an ally of Russia.
